My Rates

My rate is pretty variable depending on the specifics of what the project calls for. Strictly recording I’ll either charge a flat fee or hourly. If mixing I’ll usually also charge a flat fee or hourly as well. For producing or anything where I have to create parts, arrange, etc, basically anything where I’m putting part of my creative self into the project I’ll also want points. I don’t have a specific amount, it would vary based on how much is needed. In general I’d prefer to always be “paid” with percentage points insetad of upfront money, I find it to make more sense generally. As for how many points I’d want it could vary anywhere from 5 to 40. If i’m working with no upfront payment and there is a fair amount of song crafting to be done that would push me closer to 40. If you walk in with the song, pretty much know everything you want to do and I’m just sort of facilitating then I’d be closer to 5 if not less. In fact depending on the exact case I might just treat it as a tracking session and not want any points. Despite all of that I’ll try to give a general idea of my rates above.

Outside Engineers

Artists are welcome to bring their preferred engineer and/or producer to the studio. They’ll have to know how to use a patchbay, proper patching order(especially when using phantom power), proper setup of a tube condenser mic(if they want to use one), and proper mic placement (when using ribbon mics, if they want to use one). All recorded tracks will be recorded onto the studio drive and kept there until all studio time has been paid for.
